Meet Bethany
Bethany Maxwell, MA, LPCC
Hello! I am a licensed professional counselor candidate with degrees in both psychology and clinical mental health counseling. I’m also a certified trauma specialist, intuitive eating counselor, and an addiction counselor candidate with a focus on process addictions from dopamine deficiency.
My therapeutic specialities include ADHD and other neurodivergent navigation, anxiety, complex trauma, depression, eating disorders, death and dying, grief, and life transitions.
I prefer to utilize a non-directive approach to therapy, working to provide a space for clients to explore themselves and make meaning within their own lives. Techniques and skills utilized during therapy sessions come from a variety of therapeutic modalities including, but limited to: CBT, DBT, mindfulness, REBT, somatic, and trauma-informed.
When working with clients, I encourage an integrative approach to wellbeing by incorporating our mind, body, and reality into the equation of improving mental health. I honestly believe that by evaluating our values, narratives, and patterns towards ourselves, others, and our environment, we move towards being able to show compassion towards ourselves and the change(s) we want to facilitate through therapy.
